Tankbound Privacy Policy
Tankbound is a free artillery game. Progress stays on your device. There is no account and no analytics SDK. Optional rewarded ads and optional purchases go through Google. This page says exactly what leaves the phone and what does not.

1. Data Controller & Scope
The data controller for the Tankbound mobile application (package com.observin.tankbound) is the individual developer who publishes the app on the Google Play Store under the Observin developer account. For any privacy enquiry, use the contact details in Section 12.
This policy applies only to the Tankbound Android application. Our other apps have their own policies: Trailium, Starro, Intervals and Echo.
2. What We Collect
Stored on your device only
Campaign progress, tank and weapon unlocks, coin and gold balances, settings (including the haptics toggle), and a random per-install identifier live in the app's private storage on your phone. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes them.
Anonymous device id (coupons and referrals)
If you redeem a coupon or a referral is credited, the app sends a random per-install id (not your name, email, or advertising id) to our backend so the same code cannot be used twice on the same install. That id is generated on device and is not linked to an account.
What Tankbound never collects
- Identity — no name, email, phone number, contacts, or calendar
- Location — no location permission is requested or used
- Photos, camera, or microphone
- Gameplay analytics — no analytics or crash-reporting SDK is embedded
3. Permissions Tankbound Uses & Why
Internet
Used to fetch rewarded ads you choose to watch, to process optional purchases, to redeem a coupon or referral if you use those features, and to deliver optional over-the-air game updates. The core battle loop works without an account.
Vibration (haptics)
Optional feedback on buttons, shots, and rewards. You can turn it off in settings. It does not leave the device.
No other sensitive permissions
Tankbound does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS, or accessibility access.
4. Advertising
Tankbound shows rewarded ads only, served by Google AdMob. There are no interstitials and no ads that interrupt a battle. You watch an ad only when you tap to claim a reward (extra coins, a retry bonus, and similar opt-in placements).
Ad requests are configured as non-personalized. We do not use your advertising identifier to build a behavioural profile, and we do not sell personal data.
Google may still process technical signals such as IP address, device type, OS version, and language to serve and measure the ad and to prevent fraud. That processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the AdMob Privacy & Security guidelines.
You can also opt out of ads personalization at the device level under Android Settings → Google → Ads.
5. In-App Purchases
Optional gold packs and similar items are processed by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. They receive the purchase token and the product you bought so the grant can be delivered and restored. We do not receive your full payment card details.

6. Legal Basis (GDPR)
For users in the EU/EEA/UK, we rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:

International transfers arise only through Google (ads, Play, billing) and, if you purchase, RevenueCat. Those providers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to the United States.
7. Third-Party Services
Google AdMob
Serves the rewarded ads you choose to watch. Google acts as an independent controller for its own advertising purposes.
Google Play Billing & RevenueCat
Process optional purchases and entitlement restore. Used only if you buy something.
Supabase (our backend)
Hosts coupon and referral records. Stores only the anonymous install id, the code used, and timestamps. No account table.
Expo Updates & Google Play
Optional over-the-air JavaScript updates and Play's own install/update/crash statistics for distribution. Those happen in the respective platforms, not as an in-game analytics product.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
- On-device progress: Android Settings → Apps → Tankbound → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall
- Coupon / referral rows: kept only as long as needed to prevent duplicate claims; contact us (Section 12) to request deletion of your install id
- Ad and purchase records held by Google or RevenueCat follow those providers' own retention policies
9. Your Rights
Under the GDPR and comparable laws you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, plus the right not to be subject to automated decision-making with legal effect — we perform no such decision-making.
Right to lodge a complaint: you may complain to your local supervisory authority — in the EU see edpb.europa.eu, in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office.
10. Children's Privacy
Tankbound is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's data has been processed through the app, contact us (Section 12) and we will act promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
If Tankbound's data practices change — for example if analytics or personalized ads are added — this policy and the Google Play Data-safety declaration will be updated before that version ships, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
