Trailium for Mac Privacy Policy

Your photos and projects

Every stack, edit, plate solve and video is made on your Mac. Your photos, videos and results are never uploaded, backed up or sent to us or anyone else.

Projects remember where your files are (with macOS bookmarks) and keep their results in the app's own folder on your Mac. Deleting a project moves it to the Trash.

No account, no ads, no analytics

There is no sign-up and no login. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and it does not use the advertising identifier.

Location

Tonight's Sky and the planner use your location to draw the sky and work out rise and set times. You choose whether to share your current location (macOS asks first), search for a place, or type coordinates. The location is stored only on your Mac.

When you search for a place, or when the app looks up the time zone for a location, the search text or coordinates go to Apple Maps. Apple handles that under its own privacy policy.

Buying and licensing (direct download)

If you buy Trailium for Mac on observin.dev, Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record: it takes the payment, collects tax, sends your receipt and license key, and processes refunds. It receives your name, email, billing details and payment information under its own privacy policy. We see your order and email so we can help with your license.

When you enter your license key, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy to activate it, and checks it again about every two weeks. Your Mac's name only labels the activation so you can tell your Macs apart.

The direct download checks observin.dev for updates. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address to our host, Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived logs.

Mac App Store version

If you buy Trailium from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase and we receive no personal information about you. That version does not contact Lemon Squeezy or observin.dev.

Children

Trailium is a general audience app and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Questions or requests: contact@observin.dev.
